“Merry Christmas everyone. I just thought I’d take this little moment to send you a quick message to wish you a very happy holidays, merry Christmas and happy New Year,” the McLaren driver said. “To wherever you are in the world, I hope you’re celebrating well and I hope it’s going to be a good one filled with nice presents and a lot of food.
“2020 has been a very tough year for everyone, but the support you’ve shown me and of course the team has been incredible and I want to say a big thank you for everything you’ve done.
“But already looking ahead to 2021. I’m looking forward to seeing you all again hopefully very, very soon. And ready for another big push with a new teammate and many new things on the horizon. So thanks very much for everything. Have a great holidays and I’ll see you very soon.”
2021 will see some big changes for McLaren, with new personnel on the horizon and a new power unit supplier.
Daniel Ricciardo is inbound, partnering with Norris to complete the Woking-based team’s new driver pairing. While McLaren will also look to capitalise on a stellar end to their 2020 campaign. Which saw them secure third place in the Constructors’ Championship for the first time since 2012.
Along with the introduction of a Mercedes power unit, gearbox and new chassis configuration. All of which should see McLaren on track for another successful campaign.
