McLaren to run art inspired livery at Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Working in conjunction with sponsor BAT and their Vuse brand, McLaren have revealed their special one-off livery set to debut at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

McLaren revealed their art inspired livery at a private event overnight at the Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi.

Working on the project in conjunction with sponsor BAT’s brand Vuse, as part of the Driven by Change campaign, the livery designed by UAE-based artist Rabab Tantawy will take to the track for the final round of the 2021 Formula 1 season.

Vuse’s Driven by Change program provides up-and-coming artists over the age of 25, with the opportunity to showcase their work to a global audience through the use of motorsport.

Tantawy’s design was conceived in collaboration with automotive media designer Davide Virdis, and is aimed at representing togetherness. Blended with McLaren’s papaya and blue livery, the special design showcases her Nubian Series.

Speaking at the reveal, McLaren’s Chief Marketing Officer, Claire Cronin, said:

“We are excited to bring the art and motorsport worlds together in a ground-breaking way, by sporting Rabab Tantawy’s artwork on our race cars at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

“Together with Vuse, Driven by Change is a unique opportunity to use our global stage to support rising talent, giving undiscovered creatives the platform they deserve.

“Rabab’s art is inspiring, and we are proud to take her papaya-influenced creation racing this weekend.”
